Rev. Ruth Everhart

While I was growing up I spent summers working as my Dad's secretary at Eastern Christian Junior High School where he was principal. This was only slightly worse than actually being a student in that school. In High School things improved when I got a job in an institutional kitchen and could have water fights using the very powerful dish-room hose. During college I was a waitress at IHOP, which explains my strange fondness for orange-roofed buildings. After graduating from college with a triple major in English, Education, and Religion, I became a legal secretary. This is what I was doing when I felt called into ministry in 1984. I was ordained on October 14, 1990 by Genesee Valley Presbytery.

I'm an author: I have a passion for writing, both fiction and non-fiction, and have completed a couple novels about a clergywoman, which are not likely to be published anytime soon. Currently I'm working on a manuscript on the subject of Pilgrimage, based on my trips to Israel/Palestine (2005) and Jordan (2007).

Random facts: You might also like to know that I enjoy Brussels sprouts more than the average person and I have always wanted to ride a motorcycle across the United States.
